Discourse Markers in Peer Reviews of Academic Essays By Future Teachers of English as a Foreign Language

Abstract This article presents and discusses a quantitative investigation of discourse markers (further – DMs) in the corpus peer reviews academic essays didactics written by group future teachers English as Foreign Language (EFL). In total, 12 EFL at an intermediate level proficiency (henceforth participants) took part study. The participants were instructed to form dyads write each other’s on range topics didactics. Two corpora used study, participants’ thereof. analysed using WordSmith (Scott 2008) order establish frequencies use DMs per 1000 words. results analysis indicated that employed repertoire stylistically neutral their was quantitatively similar essays. These findings will be further discussed article.
